Women in the villages are unaware of their rights and privileges. Consequently, they are being discriminated in the area of property settlement, inheritance, and marriages.

Women in Development

Various programs are being implemented to improve the living conditions of the poor families of which women form an integral part. Women are invariably represented at the grass-roots level committees. They play a significant leadership role in mobilizing local resources. Women groups are being given training in various income generating programs including calf, pig and goat rearing; basket weaving, dairy cooperatives, and book-keeping among others.
