ABOUT EVI

The Education Village International (EVI) is the grass roots nonprofit development organization based in Tanzania that facilitates the implementation of village-based sustainable development projects in the urban and rural areas. The organization is working to provide and increase: educations, economic opportunity, sustain natural resources, and protect the environment.

EVI hope to operate through the following pathways urban and rural development: conservation and enhancement of natural resources, promotion of sustainable livelihoods, gender equity and voicing the voiceless as well as information and skill empowerment.

VISION AND OBJECTIVES

The Vision of EVI is the Integrated Development and creation of a Just Society based on justice, peace, love and unity where equality prevails at all levels. It is an organization committed to self-reliant community development of the oppressed and downtrodden women, children and the tribal. Over the years EVI has been facilitating the implementation of sustainable development programs empowering the rural women.

  • To alleviate poverty in and around through the implementation of sustainable development programs
  • To construct good hygienic houses and sanitation facilities
  • To form village level communities
  • To educate rural women and to promote public health through training and education on preventive and curative measures of health problems
  • To facilitate implementation of sustainable development programs in the field of agriculture, animal husbandry, watershed management and micro-enterprises
  • To improve the quality of drinking water by constructing wells and water harvesting projects
  • To develop gender equality and women's leadership
  • To provide necessities of life to victims of disasters
  • To cultivate love and caring for one another regardless of caste or creed
